The story of Marrone Colorado
Marrone Colorado belonged to the standard range of the 365 GT4 2+2 and the early 400. The Ferrari 400 blog lists it as 2.443.221 among 18 standard colors on order documentation through early 1978; the 330 GT Registry shows the same code in a PPG/Italver chip set and a Max Meyer chip book, and its Ditzler/PPG book lists Colorado Brown Poly for 1968–71, Ditzler 23149. A 1972 365 GTC/4, chassis 16029, offered by S2 Classic Cars with a 2015 Classiche certificate, left the factory in Marrone Colorado over Pelle Beige and was repainted black in the early 1990s. ROSSOautomobili says the name refers to the American state and that the color was used on livery 46 of Ferrari’s 70 anniversary liveries, a 365 GTC4 tribute in WhichCar’s list.
