The story of Giallo Sirius
Giallo Sirius is the yellow of 812 Competizione A Tailor Made chassis ZFF04TMA6R0301363, which RM Sotheby's sold at Monterey in 2026 as Lot 313 for $4,845,000. The catalog describes the car as finished in triple-coat Giallo Sirius, equipped with over $242,000 in options, with an Italian tricolor motif in Rosso Bandiera, Bianco Avus and Verde Bandiera applied to the upper boomerang element. ROSSOautomobili shows the color on an 812 GTS photographed by Ferrari of Central New Jersey, describes a metallic finish, and states that the shade originally appeared in the Renault color catalog — a claim no Renault document was found to support. Sirius, Wikipedia records, is the brightest star in the night sky; no page says whether the yellow is named for it.
