About Ardilla Amarillo
Ardilla Amarillo is a deep shade of yellow by Ferrari, Spanish for Yellow Squirrel. A color which was brought back through a tribute to the 1958 250 Testa Rossa (0724TR) and only available as a special Tailor Made color.
The story of Ardilla Amarillo
Ardilla Amarillo is a Tailor Made yellow seen on at least two 488 Pistas. A 2020 car delivered new in France was configured by its owner, according to the dealer Eleven Cars, as a tribute to the 1958 250 Testa Rossa chassis 0724TR, driven at Le Mans in 1958 by Lucien Bianchi — who would win the race outright in 1968, Wikipedia records — and pairs the yellow with a Rubino Metallizzato stripe. The Revs Institute’s archive lists 0724TR as the Ecurie Francorchamps entry number 58 of Bianchi and Willy Mairesse, retired after an accident, and Ferrari’s magazine notes that yellow was the Belgian teams’ racing color. A 2019 right-hand-drive Pista sold by Collecting Cars in 2024 pairs the paint with Blu NART stripes and the signatures of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen.
