The story of Giallo Man O’War
Giallo Man O'War is a yellow from the Pininfarina range of the late 1960s and early 1970s. The 330 GT Registry reproduces a PPG/Italver paint-chip set for later 365 models that lists Giallo Man O'War alongside Rosso Nearco and Amaranto Bull Lea; the Ferrari 400 blog calls this range the "racehorse" names, carried over from the 365 GTC/4 and still in use when the 400 was launched. RM Sotheby's sold 365 GT 2+2 chassis 13171, distributed in May 1970 to Luigi Chinetti Motors and the fifth of only six built with an automatic transmission, at Monaco in 2024 for €132,250; it was finished in Giallo Man O'War over an interior trimmed in Nero. Man o' War, Wikipedia records, won 20 of his 21 races in 1919–20 and is voted the best American racehorse of the twentieth century.
