About Purple Metallic Asprey
Estimated from the dominant body color of the ROSSOautomobili photo (Ferrari F355 Spider; 11% of frame). ROSSOautomobili lists it in "New Ferrari Colors Discovered: 28 Unique Red, Orange and Purple Shades".
The story of Purple Metallic Asprey
Purple Metallic Asprey was mixed for one car: the F355 Spider that the London jeweler Asprey, a Ferrari Formula 1 backer since the F310's launch in 1996, unveiled with a 355 GTB in Grigio Titanio at its "Purple Party" for 800 guests on Bond Street in 1997, with Eddie Irvine and Michael Schumacher present. DK Engineering, which sold the car, says Tony Willis of the Maranello Concessionaires Archive confirmed that only one of each was built, that the cars were driven from the Tower Garage in Egham to Bond Street, and that the service book names Asprey London Ltd as importer and Edward Asprey as salesman; ROSSOautomobili dates the commission to 1997. Asprey, Wikipedia records, was founded in 1781.
