About Rosso Metallizzato
Estimated from the dominant body color of the ROSSOautomobili photo (Testarossa; 40% of frame). No color chip has been published for this name. The name is older than the Testarossa: RM Sotheby’s 1958 250 GT Cabriolet Series I chassis 0809 GT — the 1958 New York show car, sold at Monterey 2026 for $4.9 million — was delivered "in Rosso Metallizzatto [sic] over Naturale leather" and has only ever been repainted in its original color. In RM’s photographs that car is a far brighter metallic red (about #9C1820 in sun) than the Testarossa estimate shown here, so the 1958 paint is almost certainly a different formula under the same generic name; its photo is deliberately not shown against this chip.
