The story of Grigio Cangiante
Grigio Cangiante is a Tailor Made exclusive that, as far as ROSSOautomobili knows, has been used only once. The magazine notes that the paint leans toward blue rather than a traditional silver, which matches the blue chip on the Ferrari Colors blog, and traces the name to the Italian verb cangiare, to change, and to a classical painting technique in which shading is done with a contrasting color — cangiante, which Wikipedia describes as one of the four canonical modes of Renaissance painting, shifting to a darker hue for shadows instead of adding black. ROSSOautomobili's photograph, credited to Ferrari of Central New Jersey, shows an 812 Competizione A.
