The story of Azzurro Metallizzato
Azzurro Metallizzato appears on Ferraris from the early 1950s. Gooding catalogs a 1952 212 Europa Cabriolet, chassis 0235 EU, as shown at the 1952 Paris Salon in Azzurro Metallizzato over beige leather, and 1962 250 GT SWB California Spider 3099 GT in a one-off aquamarine-hued Azzurro Metallizzato (MM 16240) displayed on Luigi Chinetti's stand at the 1962 New York auto show. The 330 GT Registry finds the name in a 1964 Quattroruote color list and in a Scaglietti chip book as 106-A-32. Bonhams records 330 GTC 11333, ordered by Maranello Concessionaires on March 26, 1968, as Metallizzato Azzurro 1927 BM, and 365 GTC 12747 delivered in the color to Crepaldi in Milan in 1969. In 2007 Ferrari reissued it among ten historic colors for the 612 Scaglietti, citing a 1956 250 GT Berlinetta.
