Bordeaux Pontevecchio began as a Maserati color. carpaints.co lists Maserati as the brand that first released it, under code 226125, with Ferrari offering it through PPG. In 2004 Maserati offered a sixty-car Quattroporte edition through the Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog at $125,000, every car finished in Bordeaux Pontevecchio with ivory leather. A genuine Maserati parts listing also carries a PPG color plate for "Bordeaux Pontevecchio 80°" under code 203149. On the Ferrari side, carpaints.co documents one 599 GTB Fiorano it believes to be the only 599 to leave the factory in the color, adding that the shade was shared within the Fiat Group at the time.
