About Blu Ribot
Blu Ribot is a historic Ferrari paint most commonly found on their model line up in the 60s and 70s. It's a blue metallic ranging from dark blue in low light to a lighter more pale blue in sunny conditions. The 250 GT Lusso shown here is confirmed Blu Ribot by its owner.
The story of Blu Ribot
Blu Ribot belongs to the Pininfarina Italver range of the 1960s and 1970s. The 330 GT Registry reproduces an Italver chip set for 365 models listing 2.443.631 Blu Ribot, and a Ditzler/PPG book carrying Ribot Blue Poly for 1963 to 1971 as Ditzler 13094. A compilation of Ferrari 400 paint records describes this 365-era standard range as the racehorse names and notes that a 1979 Pininfarina sample lists Blu Ribot Met. 2.433.118 after those names were dropped in 1978. Documented factory-finished cars include 365 GTC 11981 (April 1969), 365 GTC/4s 15621 and 15633 (both May 1972), a 1979 400i Automatic, chassis 30253, delivered to Hong Kong, and 400i GT ZFFEB07B000046017, built in 1983 for Piero Lardi Ferrari and originally Blu Ribot over beige. Ribot, Wikipedia records, won all 16 of his races, including the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in 1955 and 1956.
