The story of Blu Dino
Blu Dino was a metallic blue in the Salchi paint range Ferrari used in the 1970s, coded 106-A-72 and later 633-8-006; the 308-328.com register notes it was also named Blu Acapulco and lists it as FER507/C among the Glasurit codes that followed from late 1980. RM Sotheby's catalog for 1972 Daytona 15229 states that only 116 of the 365 GTB/4 were factory-finished in Blu Dino. Daytona 16927, completed October 15, 1973, and delivered to Jacques Swaters' Garage Francorchamps in Belgium, left the factory in Blu Dino over beige, and Dino 246 GT 04566, completed in January 1973, was finished in Blu Dino Metallizzato. On US-market 1979 308 GTB chassis 28609, the original window sticker shows Blu Dino metallic paint as the only option, at $670 extra.
