About Turchese Molvedo
Turquoise from the 365 'racehorse' palette; sits on the green/blue border. The blog also files the color under Verde with a much darker chip (#20707B) taken from a 1960s 500 Superfast; the modern cars in Ferrari's 'iconic special color' revival read as the lighter turquoise shown here.
The story of Turchese Molvedo
Turchese Molvedo is a late-1960s Ferrari color. The 330 GT Registry reproduces a Ditzler/PPG paint book listing Molvedo Turquoise for 1968–71 as Ditzler 43997, described there as a medium dark green, and a PPG/Italver chip set made for later 365 models that carries the Italian name. Ferrari revived it for Tailor Made: on May 11, 2022, Ferrari's own account showed a Tailor Made Portofino M with exterior paintwork in Turchese Molvedo and aquamarine leather, and a 2024 296 GTB, VIN ZFF99SLAXR0300866, was delivered through Ferrari of Central New Jersey on February 20, 2024, as a two-layer paint-upon-sample car in Turchese Molvedo over white leather. Molvedo, Wikipedia records, was the Italian colt that won the 1961 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe — another racehorse name in the range.
