The story of Rosso Rubino
Auction records document Rosso Rubino on early-1970s production: RM Sotheby's, citing Marcel Massini, reports Dino 246 GT chassis 03090, completed in December 1971, as finished in Rosso Rubino over beige leather and delivered to Luigi Chinetti Motors — and refinished in the same color in 2022. For the 12Cilindri Manuale, unveiled on 3 July 2026 as a series of 1,499 cars through Tailor Made, Ferrari listed 25 colors "including the standout Rosso Rubino of the launch edition" and named Rubino Micalizzato separately among the heritage shades. Rubino is Italian for ruby, the red gem variety of corundum, as Wikipedia defines it.
