About Rosso Fiammante
Rosso Fiammante, literally translating to “Flaming Red” in Italian, is a bright red introduced by Ferrari with the launch of the Ferrari 849 Testarossa. The color is defined by its fiery tone and luminous appearance, especially under direct sunlight where the paint becomes extremely vivid. Depending on lighting, the shade can shift from a rich, saturated red to a brighter almost glowing tone. As one of the launch colors for the 849 Testarossa, Rosso Fiammante was chosen specifically to highlight the car’s bold styling, making it one of the more striking additions to Ferrari’s modern red palette. It has also appeared on other newer models.
The story of Rosso Fiammante
Ferrari created Rosso Fiammante for the 849 Testarossa, unveiled in September 2025 as the replacement for the SF90 Stradale. The press release lists it among two new colors developed specifically for the occasion, paired with Giallo Ambra, and defines it as a technological evolution of the historic pastel Rosso Corsa shade, enriched by a metallic effect that gives warm, brilliant reflections under sunlight. The color reappeared on the Luce, Ferrari's first electric car, in May 2026: Il Sole 24 Ore lists Rosso Fiammante among its five launch colors, while the Luce configurator files it under Classic rather than Special.
