The story of Oro Kelso
Oro Kelso is a gold from Ferrari’s early-1970s Pininfarina range. The Ferrari 400 blog lists it as 2.443.214 in the “racehorse”-named standard range of 18 colors carried over from the 365 GTC/4; the 330 GT Registry shows the same code in two chip sets, and its Ditzler/PPG book entry, Kelso Gold Poly, a dark gold for 1968–71, carries Ditzler 23150. Documented cars include 365 GTC/4 chassis 15655, completed in June 1972 and delivered through Chinetti-Garthwaite in Oro Kelso, later repainted, and 365 GT4 2+2 chassis 19489, delivered through Charles Pozzi of Paris, refinished in its original Oro Kelso in 2021 and sold by RM Sotheby’s in Monaco in 2022 for €69,000. Goodwood previewed another 365 GT4 2+2 in original Oro Kelso at a 2025 Bonhams|Cars sale. Kelso, Wikipedia records, won an unprecedented five Horse of the Year titles, 1960 to 1964.
