The story of Argento Auteuil
Argento Auteuil is a metallic silver documented from the 1960s to the 1980s. A Scaglietti chip book for the 275 GTB lists Argento Auteuil 106-E-1, and 308-328.com records the same Salchi code on the 308, then Glasurit FER701 and FER101/C, the paint losing "Auteuil" from its name in 1981 and becoming darker from 1984 as FER101/40C; the Ferrari 400 blog's 1983 Glasurit range lists only "Argento Met. FER 101/C". RM Sotheby's notes that the first owner of 512 BB chassis 20825 ordered a 365 GT4 BB in Argento Auteuil in January 1976 before amending the order to a 512 BB in Verde Medio. ROSSOautomobili pictures a 512 BB in the color and says it was first seen in the 1960s.
