The story of Rosso Vinaccia
Ferrari counts Vinaccia among its historic colors. At the Geneva show in March 2007 it relaunched ten colors from its archive for the 612 Scaglietti, and Classic Driver's report tied Vinaccia to a 1957 250 California, calling it a signature of some of the great Ferrari models. Later orders include a 2010 458 Italia specified new by broadcaster Chris Evans in Vinaccia over Nero Alcantara, and a 2016 LaFerrari in a one-of-one special-order Vinaccia over Pelle Chiodi di Garofano leather, which RM Sotheby's sold in London on 6 November 2021 for £2,142,500. Vinaccia is the Italian for pomace, the pressed grape skins and seeds left from winemaking, as Wikipedia defines it.
