About Rosso Dino
Despite its name Rosso Dino reads more orange than red. It is in Ferrari's configurator today as a historical color and was the launch color of the 296 Speciale A (2025); auction catalogs citing factory records place it on the Dino 206 and 246 from 1968 (see the story).
The story of Rosso Dino
Auction catalogs citing factory records place Rosso Dino on the Dino range from its first year. RM Sotheby's reports Dino 206 GT chassis 00294, completed on 20 December 1968, as originally finished in Rosso Dino; Gooding & Company lists 246 GT chassis 03818, completed in April 1972, as remaining in its original Rosso Dino; and RM Sotheby's catalogs 246 GTS chassis 08056, completed in April 1974, as "Rosso Dino (20-R-350)." Ferrari's release of 29 April 2025 says the 296 Speciale A was launched in Rosso Dino. In 2026 it was one of the Luce's launch colors, grouped as Historical on the configurator, and Ferrari named it among the heritage shades offered on the 12Cilindri Manuale.
