The story of Marrone Metallizzato
Marrone Metallizzato, metallic brown, appears in Ferrari's late-1970s and 1980s paint ranges as "Marrone Met." The Ferrari 400 blog lists it in a Pininfarina sample dated 1979, after the racehorse names had been dropped, with the code 339507, and in the Glasurit range used on the 400i from 1984 through the last 412 as FER 800/C; PaintScratch sells it as Ferrari code 800, Marrone Metallic. RM Sotheby's sold a 1988 Testarossa, chassis ZFFSG17A0J0076491, built in March 1988 as one of 390 made for the North American market that year and painted in the extremely rare Marrone Metallizzato over beige leather, at Monterey in 2022 for $302,000. ROSSOautomobili spells the name Marrone Metallico and describes a metallic brown seen mainly on classic models such as the Dino, on a 308 GT4.
