The story of Giallo Solare
Giallo Solare is a 1960s Ferrari yellow. RM Sotheby's records that 275 GTS chassis 06923, finished on April 14, 1965, was originally delivered in Giallo Solare, glossed as sunny yellow, over a Nero interior of Franzi leather; the car was later refinished black and then red, and sold at Monterey in 2023 for $1,017,000. Cavallino reports that the first 275 GTS/4 NART Spyder, chassis 09437, reached Chinetti Motors in February 1967 in Giallo Solare, finished second in class at Sebring that year with Denise McCluggage and Pinkie Rollo, and was repainted a General Motors maroon before appearing in The Thomas Crown Affair; Hagerty's record of its 2005 Gooding sale, at $3,960,000, lists the exterior as Giallo Solare. A FerrariChat-compiled code list gives Max Meyer 13478 and Italver A 24473 S.
