About Bianco Birdcage
Estimated from the dominant body color of the carpaints.co photo (Ferrari 812 GTS; 16% of frame). Bianco Birdcage is a pearl white Maserati paint that's perhaps best known for featuring on the GranTurismo MC Stradale Centennial Edition. It actually dates back to 1998 and is still offered on certain models of today. It's not a pure white as it has a slightly off-white tone and a quite subtle light blue / purple sheen. The color has later also been adopted by Ferrari as they offer it through their Tailor Made Atelier.
The story of Bianco Birdcage
Bianco Birdcage is a Maserati pearl white, PPG 231047, that carpaints.co says Ferrari offers through Tailor Made; ROSSOautomobili says it is named after the Maserati Tipo 61, whose chassis of some 200 welded small tubes earned the nickname Birdcage, as Wikipedia explains. Carpaints links the paint to the GranTurismo MC Stradale Centennial Edition of 2014, for which Autoblog.it reported a new, unnamed white. On Ferraris it is rare: a Canadian-market 2023 812 GTS, chassis 292887, ordered through Tailor Made with "Extra Range Bianco Birdcage Paint w/Blu Hembery Stripes", sold on Bring a Trailer for $810,000 in October 2024 with 80 miles. Carpaints describes an off-white with a subtle light blue-purple sheen.
