About Blu Pozzi
Blu Pozzi is a dark blue non-metallic paint by Ferrari. It was named after Charles Pozzi, the Parisien Ferrari importer. Pozzi's racing team often ran its cars in blue. A newer version of the paint has since been made called Nuovo Blu Pozzi .
The story of Blu Pozzi
Ferrari describes Blu Pozzi as a warm dark blue named after Charles Pozzi, the French Ferrari importer and racing driver. Pozzi (1909–2001) raced at Le Mans five times and, Wikipedia records, started one World Championship Grand Prix, in 1950; was Ferrari's exclusive importer for France for more than thirty years, and Ferrari bought his company, Charles Pozzi SA, in December 2003. His team entered two 512 BB Competizione at Le Mans in 1978, and RM Sotheby's notes that its cars often ran in blue, among them a 512 BB LM at Le Mans in 1982. A 550 Maranello, chassis 109822, left the factory in Blu Pozzi after an order placed in August 1997; a 2005 Superamerica, chassis 145112, was cataloged in Nuovo Blu Pozzi.
