The story of Blu Inverno
Blu Inverno is an Alfa Romeo color that reached a Ferrari through a single one-off. According to the Greenwich dealer that listed it, a 2008 599 GTB Fiorano, VIN ZFFFC60AX80159182, was originally specified for the father of Jason Castriota, the designer credited with the 599 at Pininfarina; in 2011 the owner commissioned Jason Castriota Designs to bring the car closer to its early concept sketches, and all of the new bodywork was executed in carbon fiber. The dealer says the combination of Alfa Romeo Blu Inverno over red Poltrona Frau leather was inspired by the 1961 250 GT SWB California Spyder, chassis 2561GT. Autoblog.nl, reporting the car in 2024, also records that the blue was borrowed from Alfa Romeo.
