The story of Blu Avio
Avio was one of ten historic colors Ferrari relaunched at the Geneva motor show on March 7, 2007, after research in the company archive, and offered on the 612 Scaglietti. Classic Driver's report listed the shade as Avio Met, tied it to a 1964 275 GTB and carried its description as a bright blue normally associated with the world of sport. A 2007 Ferrari in-house brochure, "Colori Anni '50 - '60", covering the ten classic paints offered by special order, sold at Iconic Auctioneers in June 2022. Carpaints.co files a 430 Scuderia in Avio Metallic under code 591, and ROSSOautomobili says the shade grew in popularity with the 430 Scuderia and Scuderia Spider 16M.
