About Blu America
Blu America is one of the darkest blue paints offered by Ferrari. It's a 2 layer metallic paint which can look like black in low light but when seen in the sun the dark blue lightens up with a brighter blue metallic flake.
The story of Blu America
Blu America is sold as an extra-range option rather than a standard color; carpaints.co lists PPG as its manufacturer. A UK dealer's listing for a 2023 296 GTS itemizes the option as Special 2-Layer Blu America Paint at £10,545. The color predates those cars: an owner on FerrariChat documented a 2013 F12 in Blu America bought from Ferrari Lake Forest, whose factory build sheet described the finish as 3/4 layers paint.
