The story of Acqua Verde Metallizzato
Acqua Verde Metallizzato is the color of Battista "Pinin" Farina's own car — the coachbuilder (1893–1966) who founded Carrozzeria Pinin Farina in 1930, Wikipedia records — the one-off 275 GTB Speciale, chassis 06437, built for his personal use and shown at Paris, Frankfurt, Turin and Brussels from 1964 to 1966, as the Revs Institute recounts; by 1992 it wore a shade called China Red and was restored to its original color by Mike Sheehan before Gooding & Company sold it at Scottsdale in January 2018 for $8,085,000. Classic & Sports Car's preview put it plainly: "It is finished in Acqua Verde Metallizzato." ROSSOautomobili, with Gooding's photograph, calls it a unique green-blue.
