About Blu Cornes
Estimated from the dominant body color of the ROSSOautomobili photo (612 Scaglietti; 30% of frame). Blu Cornes is an exclusive shade of blue named after the Japanese Ferrari importer. Cornes has been importing Ferraris into Japan since 1976 and to celebrate the 30th anniversary a special edition of the 612 Scaglietti was created in 2006. It was limited to 20 units and only offered to the Japanese market, all 20 were painted in the special Blu Cornes color. It's a dark blue that still appears on some Ferraris nowadays as an extra range paint option.
The story of Blu Cornes
Blu Cornes was created for the 612 Scaglietti Cornes 30th Anniversary Edition, released in June 2006 to mark 30 years of Cornes & Co. as Ferrari's distributor in Japan. The run was limited to 20 cars; ROSSOautomobili describes the color carried onto the brake calipers, speedometer and rev counter, with two-tone Blu Cornes and tan upholstery inside, and Wikipedia, citing a 2006 Autoblog report, lists the HGTC package as standard and a price of 33,980,000 yen. Carpaints.co records Blu Cornes as a metallic dark blue made by PPG that still appears as an extra-range paint option; a 2007 Spanish report spelled the name "Blu Corner."
